Catalog description

This course surveys African American literature from the colonial period to the present. Through reading and analyzing literature in various genres, and presenting their responses orally and in writing, students will identify the social, economic, and political forces that have influenced African American writers from the past to present day. Prerequisite(s): EN 131 or equivalent.
