— Economics of Energy and Fossil Fuels

Catalog description

The course discusses energy markets and especially the economic history, extraction and consumption of the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). We also discuss energy and environmental polices such as the Cap-and-trade, cap-and-share systems, net-metering or a carbon tax. We will also provide examples of alternative and more sustainable energy policies from other countries. Formerly SS 302. Prerequisite(s): EC 141 .
