Infusing Content Language into TESOL/Bilingual Curriculum (Grades 4-12)

Catalog description

Designed for ESL and bilingual teachers, this course examines the discourse of content subjects and implications for curriculum development and instructional planning in TESOL/Bilingual programs. Topics include strategies to develop academic language, oral presentation skills, content specific syntax and grammar, and writing. Participants will examine textbooks and develop a curriculum unit that infuses content-area language into the ESL program. Procedures for assessing student progress in content area language development will be discussed.
