Research on Contemporary Issues in Taxation

Catalog description

This research seminar engages students in utilizing an analytical lens to develop and present recommendations for emerging issues, recent pronouncements of tax rule-making bodies, and/or unresolved controversies in contemporary tax policy and practice. Students apply AI-informed methods of data mining, information synthesis, forecasting, and evaluation to discipline-specific questions in taxation. Emphasis is placed on the systematic evaluation of AI-generated analyses and recommendations, including their accuracy, bias, and implications for organizational decision-making and performance. Alongside developing their analytical and critical thinking skills, students strengthen their professional communication skills.
