Catalog description

This course provides students with a comprehensive foundation in building and deploying modern generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) systems. The course examines the evolution of foundation models, large language models (LLMs), diffusion models, and multimodal systems, with emphasis on practical integration into scalable systems. Students explore several applied techniques, starting from deep learning models and all the way to agentic systems, along with evaluation methodologies, security, reliability, and secure deployment practices. The course builds foundations for responsible AI engineering, regulatory compliance, ethical implications, and risk management. Through hands-on projects and case studies, students design, evaluate, and deploy generative AI solutions within professional and interdisciplinary contexts.
