Catalog description

This course introduces students to the field of Christian Ecological Ethics. Students will critically examine the historically fraught relationship between anthropocentric Christian theologies and human treatment of the natural environment and explore how Christian theologians and practitioners draw on resources from the Christian tradition to construct ethical responses to issues such as climate change and environmental justice. The course covers a range of Christian theological approaches to ecological ethics through engaging written texts and immersive media such as film, case studies, and opportunities for experiential learning.
