Catalog description

This course analyzes contemporary theological movements that emphasize the relationship of religious faith and praxis to the sociopolitical realm. The course treats at length the development of the Latin American theology of liberation and examines its theological principles, tracing the influence of this theological outlook on other developing world theologies and on North American and European theological reflection. The course proceeds to a constructive proposal for a contemporary political theology.
