Catalog description

Building on a foundation of introductory neuroscience, this course aims to provide a more in-depth exploration of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in neural signaling, synaptic transmission, neural development, and neuroplasticity. The student will learn about the structural, biochemical, and biophysical properties of neurons and their dynamic regulation by genetic and environmental factors. We will also explore how aberrations in molecular and cellular mechanisms can lead to the development of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
