Catalog description

Diversity is an important and enriching aspect of our lives. This course will examine various aspects of diversity (e.g., discrimination, stereotypes, stigma, bias, culture, power, immigration) and how these aspects interact with each other. We will explore how diversity is manifested in real-world contexts and consider evidence-based strategies for reducing social bias. Students will also investigate areas of personal interest through student-led presentations, discussions, and connecting research to lived experiences.
