Catalog description

This course employs a comparative approach to studying the forces affecting development in developing countries. Examples and studies are drawn from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East in order to examine the roots of wealth and poverty, obstacles to development, responses to globalization, and current debates over development prospects.
