Public administration is central to American government. It decides who gets what, when, and how at the local level. This course uses case studies, theoretical analyses, and skill-development activities to examines the practice and power of U.S. public administrators and the factors that impact their jobs and the effectiveness of their decisions. This course explores core public administration concepts, bureaucratic politics, organizational behavior, decision-making strategies, public management, and social issues; builds student knowledge and professional skills; and highlights the political, practical and managerial factors that affect public administration.
