Critical Care Nursing

Catalog description

This elective course is an introduction in caring for complex patient conditions. The focus is placed on evidence-based practice of the care for the critically ill patient, including veterans. Students gain skills in situational awareness, critical illnesses, and advanced nursing interventions. Common issues such as symptom management, psychosocial challenges, and ethical dilemma across the lifespan are discussed. Nursing implications for the care of the complex patients are addressed.
