Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth discussion of the anesthetic management of patients undergoing an array of surgical procedures across the perianesthesia continuum. Emphasis is placed on the preoperative assessment, patient preparation, perioperative management and postoperative care of patients undergoing intraabdominal, orthopedic, and thoracic procedures. Students analyze current best practices in the development of the anesthesia plan of care.
