Catalog description

This course covers  the major topics in renewable energy conversion: (1) renewable energy generation technologies including wind, solar photovoltaic, geothermal, hydropower, and biomass; (2) energy storage and related technologies including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS); green hydrogen, and fuel cells; and (3) renewable energy resource assessment. The course also includes highly practical and market-oriented instruction related to renewable energy program development, economic analysis, and project scheduling and management. A research report and class presentation of an independent research on one of the emerging sources of energy or energy storage is an essential part of this course. Undergraduate equivalent: MEEG 4346 .
