Finite Element Analysis

Catalog description

An introduction to concepts in finite element analysis; this course covers one- and two-dimensional element formulation and structural analysis. This finite element analysis is extended to three dimensional problems in mechanics and materials. This course will provide an overview of the complimentary topic of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Students solve problems both manually and with the use of modern computer finite element software, Ansys and Fluent.
