Students will study introductory group theory. Topics include the definition and examples of groups, cyclic groups and Cauchy’s Theorem, permutation groups and Cayley’s Theorem, group homomorphisms and isomorphisms, subgroups and cosets, Lagrange’s Theorem, and the Isomorphism Theorems.
