Elementary Probability and Statistics

Catalog description

This introduction to the theory of statistics includes: types of data, descriptive statistics including the mean, median, mode, standard deviation, variance, histograms, box plots, scatterplots, correlation, and least squares lines, basic probability rules, types of distributions, binomial and normal distributions, central limit theorem; and an introduction to one-sample hypothesis testing. This course requires the use of the TI-84 calculator or Excel. Students who have received credit for MATH 2217 , 3317 or 3352 may not take this course for credit.
