Italian for Professional Applications

Catalog description

This is a language course designed to give students who have completed Intermediate Italian the grammatical, lexical, and cultural literacy to engage in professional transactions in Italian. Students will gain a cross-cultural understanding of business communication in Italian through the introduction and refinement of pertinent grammar and vocabulary. As a class, we will research notable Italian industries, including fashion, food, and tourism, and analyze their commercial appeal in Italy and abroad. Students will also become familiar with Italy's political, industrial, and financial institutions, while keeping abreast of current events that affect Italian commerce.
