Catalog description

This course explores the experiences of individuals and social movements throughout U.S. history, who from a variety of religious and philosophical traditions found meaning in their lives and made an impact on U.S. society. Individuals range from Mary Dyer and Roger Williams to Lucretia Mott, Walter Rauschenbusch, Dorothy Day, John Cardinal Murray, and Jonathan Kozol, from the abolitionists to the anti-war movement.
