Creative Writing: Fiction I

Catalog description

An introduction to writing fiction in a course that focuses on elements of craft, including character, setting, perspective, and conflict. Coursework will include close readings of published stories and novels (with an emphasis on writing techniques and narrative strategies), writing prompts and exercises, drafts of original fiction, and a substantive revision. Students will participate in discussions and peer review in a workshop format.
