This essential liminal characteristic imparts Asian American Literature an unique flavor with questions of reality, the fake and the fabricated. It also leads to a variety of works ranging from experimental forms and genres to narratives of war and oppression to texts that express the physical and psychological effects of people born and bred in cultures and contexts that have disowned them.
