Catalog description

This course introduces the principles of operating systems, including operating system structure, process and thread synchronization and concurrency, file systems and storage servers, memory management techniques, process scheduling and resource management, virtualization, and more on a UNIX-like platform. It also provides exposure to parallel and distributed computing, focusing on how operating systems support multicore and networked environments across different platforms.
