Catalog description

The Dolan Experiential Learning Program is a zero-credit required component of the undergraduate business core designed to ensure that every Dolan student engages in meaningful, real-world learning prior to graduation. In alignment with Fairfield University’s Jesuit mission of educating the whole person, the program integrates academic learning with professional experience and personal development. Students complete two approved experiential learning activities—such as internships, client-based projects, study abroad, leadership roles, or competitions—providing opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in practical settings and develop essential professional skills. Each experience is paired with a structured reflection that encourages students to connect their experiences to academic concepts, career goals, and personal growth. The program strengthens career readiness and helps students effectively articulate their skills and experiences to employers.
