Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth examination of the structural organization of the human body and relationships with physiology. We will explore anatomy not just as a catalog of parts, but as a dynamic set of systems shaped by function, development, and evolutionary history. The class will cover all major organ systems from both macroscopic and microscopic perspectives, emphasizing how anatomical form supports physiological function and how structural variation impacts clinical outcomes. Our approach will be regionally and systemically integrative. Students will be encouraged to connect what we learn about anatomical structure with biomechanical, developmental, and physiological processes. Registration priority will be given to Health and Human Biology students. Instructor permission required.
