Catalog description

This research seminar engages students in utilizing an analytical lens to develop and present recommendations for emerging issues, recent pronouncements of accounting rule-making bodies, and/or unresolved controversies in contemporary financial reporting and practice. Students apply AI-informed methods of data mining, information synthesis, forecasting, and evaluation to discipline-specific questions in accounting. Emphasis is placed on the systematic evaluation of AI-generated analyses and recommendations, including their accuracy, bias, and implications for organizational decision-making and performance. Alongside developing their analytical and critical thinking skills, students strengthen their professional communication skills.
