Shielded Metal Arc Welding I

Catalog description

Prerequisite: None. Basic course includes instruction on entry-level skills and knowledge to: identify and set-up the types of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) equipment; identify types and specifications of SMAW electrodes; set up and perform fillet and groove SMAW welds on carbon steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Covers the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 Structural Welding Code and related AWS SENSE Level 1 competencies.
