Catalog description

Prerequisite: Acceptance to Year One of the Nursing (PN) program. Introduction to the science and fundamental concepts of human nutrition, with an emphasis on how nutrients support health and influence disease prevention across the lifespan. Integrate the processes of digestion, absorption, metabolism, and excretion to delay or prevent the onset of varying disease processes. Develop skills in providing patient-centered, individualized, culturally sensitive nutritional care, while promoting a healthy lifestyle for patients and populations.
