MACH 135
Advanced Computer Aided Manufacturing
State Fair Community College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Prerequisite: MACH 134 with a grade of C or higher. This course combines engineering design and machining processes, advancing beyond the fundamentals into operations such as 3D milling, 4th, and 5th-axis machining, as well as 4-axis lathe operations. Students must be proficient with both computers and machining. They will develop skills in creating and modifying 3D models and generating and editing CNC G-code. By integrating modeling and CNC programming, students will transform 3D model files into fully functional CNC programs using output-generated code. Additionally, students will build on previously acquired skills, including importing and exporting programs, safe setup and operation of CNC machines, setting work and tool offsets, identifying tools, and understanding G and M codes.
