Advanced CNC Machining

Catalog description
Prerequisite: MACH 118 with a grade of C or higher. In this advanced course, students will learn to safely operate and program both CNC lathes and mills while utilizing CAD/CAM software to design and create part models, fixturing, and G-code programs. Students will gain the skills to reverse engineer parts as well as design and create their own components, including 3D models, fixturing, and G-code programs. Additional focus will be on precision measurement, material identification, importing and exporting programs, and the safe setup and operation of CNC machines. Emphasis will also be placed on advanced tooling techniques for complex manufacturing applications.
