Catalog description

Prerequisite: None. Provides hands-on, safety-driven instruction in the operation of both CNC Turning and Machining Centers. Students will learn how to operate the controls of CNC machines, set up tools in both the lathe and mill, and create parts using already completed programs. They will also learn how to measure parts to ensure accuracy and precision in their machining processes, as well as how to offset tools properly to create quality parts. Additional skills include making minor program changes at the control, understanding machine positioning, and understanding G and M codes.
