This course will introduce students to the professional field of health promotion and education by examining the role of health educators, the history of health education, the settings where health educators are employed, the theoretical and philosophical perspectives of health education, and the ethics of the profession. During the course, students will develop an understanding of the role of health promotion and education in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating health challenges that affect our communities.
