This course examines the critical role of health care leaders in the policy making arena. Students examine the federal policy making process, key issues in health policy, and the roles power and politics play in policy development and implementation. Students explore health care reforms and efforts to respond to disparities in health outcomes for vulnerable populations. HSC510 is cross-listed with BUS510. Students in the Health Sciences degree should register for the HSC version of this course, and Business degree students should register for the BUS version of this course. Students may not take both versions of the course and have the credit count toward graduation. View Sample Syllabus
