Catalog description
This course will provide students with a theoretical and empirical understanding of the history and origins of international terrorism. The course examines socialization and radicalization, motivating ideologies, the roles played by media, organization and financing, and the nature of threats posed abroad and domestically. It identifies international terrorist groups, reviews their strategies and tactics, and examines counterterrorism strategy and policy. Particular time and attention will be devoted to the strategies and tactics of 21st century jihadi networks. View Sample Syllabus
