Advanced Financial Management
Excelsior University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The financial well-being of individuals and families worldwide requires managers to appropriately weigh risk, versus return, in making investment decisions for corporations and other firms that employ them. Financial skills are also applied in your personal life, as you accept a loan, save for retirement, or apply for a mortgage. This course is designed to strengthen your capacity to make complex financial decisions to evaluate assets, investments, financing options, instruments, and opportunities. You will apply principles of cash management, capital budgeting, and other long-term financial planning tasks to prepare for responsibilities carried out by financial managers in large and small firms alike, from Cisco Systems, Inc., to Small Town Pie Co. In this course, as you evaluate major financing challenges, you will build skills necessary to make decisions in personal and business situations as you develop financial models, forecast capital expenditures, and evaluate external financing and working capital needs.
