Introduces students to the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern human activity in outer space. The course examines foundational treaties, such as the Outer Space Treaty, as well as contemporary agreements shaping responsible behavior in orbit and beyond. Students analyze how national policies, international norms, and emerging commercial activities intersect to influence global space governance. By the end of the course, learners gain a working understanding of how law and policy guide space exploration, commercialization, security, and sustainability.
