Catalog description

This course will analyze the procedures followed in managing the rooms division of a lodging operation. The main areas of study will include the front office and housekeeping department. The student will become familiar with front office operations and structure, sales of rooms and services, reservations, guest check-in and check-out, the accounting process, and the night audit. The functions of an effective housekeeping department, housekeeping procedures, and inspecting will also be discussed.
