LEGAL TRENDS IN NATIONAL SECURITY AND COUNTERTERRORISM

As terrorism has been the most frequent form of conflict in the late 20th century, the study of National Security and Terrorism has become a vital topic of discussion to prevent such acts. In today’s society, there are more forms of low intensity violence and overt terrorism. Ideological hardening, ethnic militancy, and religious revivalism have fueled terrorist ambitions. Three types of terrorism, classified on the basis of actors will be discussed: domestic (U.S.), international or group-directed, and state-sponsored and specifically how these threaten the safety of the commercial aviation community.
