Catalog description
This course explores the field of forensic psychology and its relationship to clinical practice. It is a specialized field that addresses legal matters and the application of psychology to the legal system. Areas of focus will include competency, understanding criminal behavior, determining how victims are impacted by crime, expert witness testimony, working with attorneys, jury selection, and how correctional psychology is related to the practice of forensic psychology. A variety of assessments will be reviewed including competency evaluations, risk assessments, and child custody evaluations.
