Catalog description

Examines how social contexts influence individual and group behavior. Topics include social perception and cognition, attitude formation and change, social influence and persuasion, interpersonal attraction and relationships, group dynamics and decision-making, prejudice and discrimination, aggression and prosocial behavior, and applications to contemporary social issues including social media and online behavior. Students critically evaluate social psychological research and apply theories to real-world phenomena. Prerequisite: Psychology 121. Fall, spring.
