Catalog description

Overview of the philosophy, mission, vision, Nurse of the Future Competencies, student learning outcomes, and the constructivist framework of the MaricopaNursing program. Student expected to be prepared with basic concepts of therapeutic communication, the nursing process, pharmacology, introductory concepts of intravenous therapy and knowledge of fundamental concepts. Primary content areas: nursing process, with emphasis on the use of the nursing process to develop a plan of care; utilization of critical thinking skills; problem-solving strategies, the communication process; psychiatric nursing competencies and role transition between LPN and RN scope of practice.
