Mastery of Clinical Externship

Catalog description

Capstone course that is the final quarter of the clinical dental assisting externship. Focuses on increased independence in clinical practice, mastery of skills, self-evaluation, and clinical decision-making. Application of advanced skills with autonomy, accuracy, and efficiency while engaging in complex clinical workflows, supporting a range of dental procedures, and contributing as integral members of the dental team. Prepares students to perform at the level expected of a competent, highly-educated, entry-level dental assistant in a variety of clinical settings.
