Provides knowledge and skills to understand the chemistry of reactive and unstable hazardous materials, the toxicology of dangerous chemicals, and the measures taken to protect the safety of responders, the community, and the environment of chemical accidents. Also includes an introduction to field sampling of unknown substances for the Field Intelligence Team (FIT) and the Hostile Intent and Intervention Team (HIIT).
