Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to provide background information for working with adults. It considers developmental changes, different theories of adult learning, and some of the factors that affect learning. It also considers the unique characteristics of the human service professions and the contextual factors that accompany the delivery of services. The second section of the course will use some of these concepts to focus on three groups of adult learners: students, supervisees, and parents. The class is designed to engage your experience as an adult learner and to enrich it with reading and discussions.
