Catalog description

This course offers a continuation of the study of the topics contained in MET220 - Mechanical Systems I. Topics include advanced gear drive systems, shaft seals and packing, mechanical seals, advanced bearings, brakes and clutches, troubleshooting shaft alignments and coupling issues, power transmission screws and vibration metering and analysis. Upon completion of this course, the student will have demonstrated the ability to install, maintain and repair a vast array of mechanical equipment, such as working in a gearbox, pump and wheel hub.
