Catalog description

Introduction to Mechatronics is an introduction to the interdisciplinary field that combines elements of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and control engineering to design and create intelligent and automated systems. This course provides students with a foundational understanding of the principles and applications of mechatronics, preparing them for advanced studies and careers in robotics, automation, industrial maintenance and beyond. Topics covered will also include industrial safety, work ethics, resume writing and career exploration. Students will learn about companies in the local area that employ graduates in the field by either visiting industry or guest speakers or both. Students will have the opportunity to participate in an entry-level project that guides them through using the skills they will need to employ in order to be successful in their career choice.
