This course focuses on building an understanding of the theory, research, and clinical information related to Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders, with an emphasis on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Topics may include etiology, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and challenges related to traumatic disorders; the nature of trauma and stressor-related disorders and how they present; research on these disorders and their treatment; history of how these disorders came to be understood; the means and methods of screening, assessment/evaluation, and treatment; and future directions in the field.
