Catalog description

Advanced Digital Photography explores the image as a form of creative problem-solving through technical, aesthetic, and conceptual approaches. Emphasis is placed on composition, visual storytelling, and the development of an individual point of view. Students engage in critical analysis through written critiques, demonstrating an understanding of visual intent and meaning. Through a series of projects, students produce photographs in both color and black-and-white while refining their ability to communicate ideas visually. The course culminates in a portfolio that reflects new ways of seeing and interpreting the world, highlighting photography’s potential to transform the everyday. Access to a digital camera and a computer is required. Prerequisites: Prior coursework or equivalent experience in digital photography is required.
