Music Across World Cultures: Advanced ((4 Credits))

Catalog description

This course investigates topics in world music and culture identified with one or more of the following geographical areas: South America and Mexico, the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, Canada, and the U.S. The student will learn how music functions within the spiritual, ritual, historical and cultural traditions of each country and/or geographical area. Prerequisite: some practical and/or critical understanding of music.
