Catalog description

This graduate-level internship course provides students with hands-on, real-world experience in information technology (IT) and cybersecurity. Through placement in industry, government, or research settings, students will apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges, develop technical and professional skills, and gain exposure to emerging trends in cybersecurity and IT management. Interns will engage in activities such as risk assessment, threat analysis, security implementation, and IT project management under the supervision of industry professionals and faculty mentors and the career services . Throughout the internship, students will document their experiences, reflect on their learning, and connect their work to broader industry standards and best practices. The course includes periodic check-ins, discussions on professional ethics, and a final report or presentation summarizing key takeaways. Prerequisites: INFT 6142 or INFT 6127 .
