Catalog description
This course provides a comprehensive overview of network security principles, practices, and technologies essential for protecting information assets and ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Students will explore various types of network threats and vulnerabilities, along with the strategies and tools used to mitigate these risks. Topics include firewall configurations, intrusion detection and prevention systems, virtual private networks (VPNs), encryption methods, and security protocols. Through hands-on labs and real-world case studies, students will gain practical experience in implementing and managing secure network architectures. This course is designed for those pursuing a career in cybersecurity, aiming to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to defend against sophisticated cyber threats. Prerequisites: INFT 2025 - Introduction to Cybersecurity, INFT 3025 - Data Communications & Networks.
